Aesculapian Aesthetic Anti-Aging Institute

Like the butterfly meanders across the sky seeking nectar and essence, we search to express ourselves more fully, passionately molding ourselves to satisfy our inner self image—the goal to which we aspire and the cherished accomplishment that will bring us true fulfillment, elegance and dignity. Because this achievement will require extreme dedication and effort, we at Aesculapian offer a wide array of services tailored to individual needs.
One step may well include the lovely effects of Botox™– to include the control of glabellar lines often with the benefit of an element of brow lift. The skillful use of Botox™ is one of our favorite tools in seeking beauty. When used expertly it can produce quite a lovely result. Like virtually everything in life, Botox™ should only be used with good medical judgment and, like any medical modality, Botox™ has potential risks and should be used only with caution, if at all, in several selected situations which include, but are not limited to the following:
– Pregnancy (not recommended)
– Peripheral motor neuropathic disease (e.g., amytrophic lateral sclerosis or motor neuropathy)
– Neuromuscular junctional disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome)
– Evidence of prior allergic response to the medication
– Patients with severe dysphagia
– Skin infection which would require injection through the infected area
– Patients with severe pre-existing cardiovascular disorders
– Concurrent use of selected other medications to include aminoglycosides, curare-like nondepolarizing
blockers, lincosamides, polymyxins, quinidine, magnesium sulfate, anticholinesterases and succin choline chloride
Botox™ neurotoxin therapy was granted approval by the FDA in 1989 for strabismus and blepharospasm (eye problems). Botox™ cosmetic was granted approval by the FDA in 2002. Since that time in the United States, it has been the number one physician administered aesthetic procedure. We are not personally aware of any severe complications established to be due solely to Botox™ cosmetic when the Allergan product was used as per protocol and when administration was performed by a trained and experience physician.
We at Aesculapian Anti-Aging Institute believe that administration by a specifically trained and experienced physician is of primary importance. With present techniques the discomfort of injection is minimal if any. Also with present techniques you can expect to go out the evening of the day of injection without anyone being able to tell you had undergone a procedure.
We look forward to assisting you with the Botox™ experience.
Whereas Botox™ cosmetic is of primary value in treating voluntary wrinkles, fixed/involuntary wrinkles, as well as facial lines and some depressed scars respond better to filler. Voluntary wrinkles refer to wrinkles that are the result of voluntary muscle contraction. When the patient is totally relaxed involuntary wrinkles do not disappear. Only voluntary wrinkles respond predictably to Botox™.
Filler is also used to accentuate structures, margins and borders. Fillers may be used to outline lips and to expand areas of the lips, to fill in the corners of the mouth and to soften nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Our faces frequently lose some definition with age and fillers may be useful in reconstructing this beautiful structure. Small depressed facial scars may be lifted with filler. Repeated doses may be needed to achieve optimal results.
The lips and facial folds are extremely sensitive, so for lip definition and enhancement we frequently utilize a dental block which gives excellent anesthesia but which lasts for several hours. For facial folds, topical anesthesia is often adequate for discomfort control. An element of bruising may occur and evidence of the procedure may be detected for five days or so. The patient can expect some swelling immediately following the procedure, however, this is generally decreased well with preceding red light, Arnica cream and ice packs.
Multiple fillers are presently available. We prefer to use Restylane® for the lips and Perlane® for facial wrinkles. These both have significant advantages over competing preparations. We place elevated emphasis on fillers mainly because, in our opinion, the fillers require a level of skill and expertise on the part of the physician that exceeds many other modalities. Expertly managed fillers require experience and attention to detail, as well as an artistic appreciation for symmetry and beauty.
New techniques with lower face and neck now include “skin tightening” which may be comfortably achieved with the laser. Skin tightening requires at least four sessions, but the sessions are generally painless or nearly so, due primarily to the ability of the laser to cool the target area.
Body sculpting (not weight loss) is approached through mesotherapy and lipodisolve. Techniques at Aesculapian Aesthetic Anti-Aging Institute have rendered these procedures to be essentially without significant pain. Consultation with a physician helps define goals.
Two diet programs are under evaluation. Patients may be entered into one of these programs after they have participated in a training session during which the benefits and drawbacks of the individual diets are presented.
As is evident, there is much going on at Aesculapian Aesthetic Anti-Aging Institute. Life is enhanced by beauty; it has been so since ancient times. Fortunately, a variety of modalities are now available to accentuate beauty.
Come join the adventure and maximize yourself.
